The Uncommon Garden
Nestled behind his home in Chapel Hill, Dan Krebill has created a magical place, "The Uncommon Garden". This ongoing artistic effort began thirteen years ago with just a simple idea for a small pond with a walking path around it. As you will see, since then the garden has evolved and taken on a life of its own which now defies a simple description.
I have had the great fortune over the past four years to photograph this ever changing, glorious space. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I have taking them. The album has many images, but they barely scratch the surface . You really have to visit the garden to fully appreciate what it offers and what Dan's vision has created.
Each year Dan hosts a fundraiser in the garden for The Carrboro Arts Center. This is your chance to experience this unique place first hand. Buy your tickets early before they sellout and be sure to bring your camera! This year's fundraiser will be on Saturday May 18, 2013.
Note: Early construction photos courtesy of Dan Krebill and Rik Herrmanson.
